ടിപ്പുവിന്റെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ തകർന്നുപോയ ഈ പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രം, പ്രദേശവാസികളുടെ ഭക്തിയും കൂട്ടായ്മയും കൊണ്ട് പുനർജനിച്ച്, ഇന്ന് സമാധാനത്തിന്റെയും ഭക്തിയുടെയും പ്രതീകമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.

ഗുരുവായൂരപ്പന്റെ രൂപത്തെ ഓർമ്മിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഉണ്ണിക്കൃഷ്ണ വിഗ്രഹമാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. പൂർണ്ണ ഹൃദയത്തോടെ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷാത്കരിക്കുന്ന ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രതിഷ്ഠയെന്ന് ഭക്തർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. 🙏

ഉത്സവങ്ങളിൽ വെടിക്കെട്ടോ ആനയോ ഇല്ലാത്ത, ശാന്തവും ലളിതവുമായ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത് — ശുദ്ധമായ ഭക്തിയുടെ ഇടം.

A small but beautiful temple — once destroyed during Tippu Sultan's rampage through Malabar — Kakkamvelly Sreekrishna Temple stands today as a symbol of enduring faith. Renovated and lovingly maintained by the local community, it is now a serene place for prayer and worship.

The presiding deity is Lord Krishna in his childhood form — Unnikrishnan (Baby Krishna). Many devotees believe the idol here resembles the sacred form at the famous Guruvayur Temple — a powerful idol who fulfils the wishes of those who pray with a whole heart. 🙏

This is a quiet, intimate temple — there are no fireworks (vedikkett) during festivals, and elephants are not part of the celebrations. What you will find is pure, peaceful devotion.
